What We Do

Situated in Welling, Kent, England. Strange Loop Studios© and/or GotoAndLearn (uk) {}© is the place to go if you are looking to learn new skills or further develop you interests in music, multimedia and web development.

Currently our premises are divided into 2 very separate areas (with plenty of room for more), they are:

1. Strange Loop Studios© - The Recording Studio and Practice Rooms.

2. GotoAndLearn (uk) {}© - The IT Training / Media Experimentation suite.

The Studio

In the recording studio we offer our services and facilities to help musicians finalize ideas, record demo material, rehearse for gigs, practice and improve individually or as a group and broadcast video feeds of live sessions, special events or rehearsals. We offer music technology tuition and are keen to allow those with an interest in learning to work with and record friends or other bands.

The studio is fully sound-proofed so you can make as much noise as you want. If you want to take a break you can use the band area which is a bright, well lit room with comfy sofas, a tv and computer with internet connection (just in case you want to edit your myspace or find some lyrics). We are always looking at enhancing or developing our services as we want to be one of the best, as such there will always be something new to look forward to that will be developed specifically to help our clients.

Learn IT

If you have an interest in computers, multimedia or the internet we have a dedicated room where you can learn a variety of technologies or just take the time to experiment under our guidance.

Whatever stage you are at we can help you to learn more about Adobe Flash Professional, Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Flex and Adobe Apollo. Our classes can be tailored to your needs, we also offer HTML, CSS, XML, XHTML plus more advanced dynamic technologies such as PHP, AMFPHP, Flash Remoting, Flash Media Server, Flex Data Services and ASP.NET. We can help you better understand web accessibility, e-commerce, database integration and audiovisual production for the web.

Our tutor is a certified Macromedia professional and has worked most recently for companies such as The Open University, The BBC, Centrex (Metropolitan Police E-Learning) and currently develops Rich Internet Applications for Media Intelligence market research services.

IT Training

GotoAndLearn (uk) {}© is different from other training providers. Our IT training is offered at affordable prices and the business is run like a club. This way our students can come and go as they want, there are no commitments. You can either request private tuition for a specific subject or just book a class that interests you and suits you experience when it is advertised.

Typically our classes will be designed to last for one hour as they are intended to be byte-sized so our students can pick and choose what they want to learn and don't get left feeling overwhelmed. If you have a requirement for private tuition we can be more flexible with the minimum class time being one hour and the maximum two.

Don't forget that you can buy time on our media workstations if you just want to experiment. We have most software packages available for the creation of multimedia or music and will be available if you need help and assistance.

The Studio

Strange Loop Studios© is ready and available for hire.

At present we have a fully soundproofed recording/rehearsal room with seperate drum room and a lounge area (with comfortable sofas, tv and a pc with internet access).
